This modern, sheltered housing of 190 m², is situated in Vara in the southern parts of Sweden. It was completed in February 2009, and consists of five flats giving home to disabled people with high levels of care and support needs.
The building uses five Uponor systems, Underfloor heating, Pre-insulated pipe (Ecoflex), Sprinkler, Uponor PEX Pipe for tap water and Multi-layer Composite Pipe (Unipipe) for feedings.
All installations were carried out by Kjellners Rör AB. “Using one single supplier only has advantages. I always use Uponor products and I don’t want to change to something else”, says Christofer Kjellner at Kjellners Rör AB.
“The sprinkler system was introduced rather late in this project, therefore we had to do a special solution, but everything worked out fine”, continues Christofer Kjellner.
Uponor’s pre-insulated pipe, Ecoflex, was used in order to minimize energy losses and save building space, and underfloor heating is ideal for nursing projects due to its flexibility, high efficiency rating and low running costs.
“I am very pleased with how this building turned out”, says Jörgen Ehn from house-owner Vara Bostäder.
